Xace has appointed Andria Evripidou as its Chief Banking Officer, further consolidating its position as the leading payment provider for gaming and alternative industries throughout Europe.
As Chief Banking Officer, Andria will lead Xace’s ambitious plans for global expansion, responsible for global banking operations, including building strong strategic partnerships with key financial players around the world. Ultimately, Andria’s goal will be to deliver wider business growth while ensuring a strong risk management and compliance culture. Andria will be reporting directly to Xace CEO David Hodkinson.
Andria is joining Xace from Yapily – one of the most prominent Open Banking start-ups in Europe – where she led its Public Policy and Compliance function. Prior to that Andria worked as a senior manager at Revolut, leading the company’s global expansion and authorisations efforts. Andria started her career as an economic consultant before moving on to work for many years for the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority and the Payment Systems Regulator. Andria is passionate about making financial services accessible to all businesses and sectors – especially for exciting industries such as e-gaming and the creative industries that have always fostered innovation.
Ms Evripidou is the latest in a line of senior hires into Xace’s C-Suite, following the arrival of Chief Operating Officer, Alexandra Cernescu. As part of the executive team, Andria and Alexandra will play a key role in the decision making and leadership of the business on a global scale as it focuses on its customer growth trajectory.
Xace has expanded rapidly since launching under a year ago and particularly among gaming companies that struggle to acquire traditional high-street bank accounts. The company already counts some of gaming’s most well-known and respected businesses as customers. It currently provides EUR and GBP business and personal accounts, each with virtual debit cards, throughout Europe.
David Hodkinson, Xace CEO, said: “I am thrilled to welcome Andria to the team. Andria brings a wealth of experience to the table ranging from global fintech expansion to regulation and banking operations. She has a strong track-record in scaling up businesses in a regulated environment and I look forward to leveraging her expertise.
“I am immensely proud of this year’s exceptional senior appointments to the company. As we continue to strengthen our existing governance and global presence, we’ve hired some of the most talented professionals in the sector with many years of experience, delivering world-class business practices.
“Xace has proven that it is possible to offer high quality financial services to businesses that have historically been underserved by high street banks. We were surprised to see how many innovative businesses were struggling to find a company that met their payment needs. We are now focusing on global product expansion and couldn’t think of anyone better to have on board for this journey than Andria.”
Andria Evripidou, Chief Banking Officer at Xace, said: “I have been so impressed with Xace’s phenomenal journey so far. I am so excited to be joining a dynamic company like this who are prepared to transform the future of finance for businesses. It is an honour and a privilege to be asked to join Xace at this exciting point in time and I look forward to driving the adoption of our solutions to business around the world.”
